Detection of PDGF Receptor in cryostat tissue sections of mouse embryo (spinal cord)

Description:

PDGF Receptor beta (CD140b) is a type I membrane protein that binds specifically to PDGF-BB form and has a tyrosine-protein kinase activity. It phosphorylates Tyr residues at the C-terminus of PTPN11 creating a binding site for the SH2 domain of GRB2. It is involved in a form of chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML) characterized by abnormal clonal myeloid proliferation and by progression to acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) through a chromosomal translocation t(5;12)(q33;p13) that involves PDGFRB and ETV6/TEL. It was shown that PDGF Receptor beta is also a target for adeno-associated virus type 5 (AAV-5) and bovine papillomavirus E5 protein
